Don't just answer questions; give others something to add or discuss.
In a conversation: don't just answer questions, reveal a little about yourself so the conversation can continue
"No." Absolutely correct. But that's also where many conversations end. A good answer is more than just "correct." It gives the other person something to continue the conversation. For example: "No. My parents live in New Zealand, but I currently live in China." One sentence, a little more personal information, and the conversation has a chance to continue. Don't just practice standard answers. Practice how to make your answers the basis for the next round of conversation.
